Friendsgiving & Thanksgiving Gathering Venue Rental in Cottonwood, AZ

When the Guest List Outgrows the Dining Room

Every year the Thanksgiving table gets a little longer. More cousins, new partners, neighbors, friends who can’t fly home. At some point the house stops working. Renting a private space for Friendsgiving or a large family Thanksgiving means one long table, no one eating off their lap, and no one’s home getting wrecked.

In 2026, Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 26. Most Friendsgiving gatherings land on the weekend before (November 21 to 22) or the weekend after (November 28 to 29).

Why Rent a Space for Friendsgiving or Thanksgiving?

  • Everyone at one table. Set up long banquet-style tables so the whole group actually eats together.
  • No host burnout. No one spends the week before deep-cleaning or the week after recovering.
  • Neutral ground. Great for blended families or friend groups where no single home fits everyone.
  • Room for the extras. A kids’ corner, a football-on-the-screen area, a dessert table, a gratitude wall.

Potluck or Catered: Which Works Better?

Both work. A potluck keeps costs low and feels like a traditional Friendsgiving. Assign categories (sides, desserts, drinks) so you don’t end up with six pies and no stuffing. A catered meal is easier for larger family groups, especially if the usual turkey cook wants a year off. Many groups split the difference: order the turkey and main dishes, then let guests bring sides and desserts.

Friendsgiving Planning Tips

  • Book a window that covers the whole day of eating. Include setup, a long meal, dessert, and cleanup.
  • Bring food warm and ready to serve. Use insulated carriers, slow cookers, and chafing dishes.
  • Plan the table. Disposable or rented tableware, a simple centerpiece, and name cards if it’s a mixed crowd.
  • Pack a cleanup kit. Trash bags, to-go containers for leftovers, and foil.
  • Add one tradition. A gratitude round, a pie contest, or a group photo before everyone scatters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we bring our own food for a Thanksgiving potluck?
Yes. Outside catering and food are welcome, so a potluck, a catered meal, or a mix of both all work.

Is Connection Room available on Thanksgiving Day?
Holiday dates are limited and high-demand. Contact us as soon as possible to check Thanksgiving Day and weekend availability.

How much does it cost?
Rental is $150 per hour plus a 20% service fee. A 50% deposit reserves your date, with the remaining balance due 45 days before your event. Some high-demand dates may require full, non-refundable payment upfront, and a $100 refundable key deposit is part of the standard booking process. Splitting the rental across several households often makes it cheaper per family than people expect.

How many people can we fit?
It depends on your layout. A seated dinner at long tables fits differently than a standing mixer. Send us your headcount and we’ll help you plan the setup.
